No Suits Filed Against Newtown for Sandy Hook Shooting as Deadline Approaches
The statute of limitations for personal injury lawsuits is two years from the time of injury.

As the deadline approaches, no one has yet filed a suit or intent to sue the Town of Newtown over the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Personal injury claims alleging negligence have a statute of limitations of two years from the date of injury, according to the New Haven Register.
As of Friday, Dec. 5, nothing had been filed with the Town Clerk’s office. Town Attorney David Grogins told the Register that any suit alleging negligence on the town or school system’s part would be difficult to prove, but that doesn’t necessarily mean something wouldn’t be filed.
