• Newtown Police Lieutenant Graduates From FBI National Academy (patch.com) — Newtown residents are learning that Lt. Scott Smith has completed the prestigious FBI National Academy, a leadership and advanced training program for law enforcement. Smith, a member of the Newtown Police Department since 2007 and now head of Professional Standards, is expected to bring new skills and insights back to benefit both the department and the wider community.
   

• 'The Great Art-Doors' Extended, Moved To Municipal Center Grounds (newtownbee.com) — Newtown residents can now see "The Great Art-Doors" outdoor art exhibit on the grounds of Newtown Municipal Center at 3 Primrose Street, where it's been extended through October 10. Featuring works by 11 local and regional artists, the show includes whimsical miniature houses and other installations, supported by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission to increase community access to local art.
   

• Charter Revision Commission Interviews Town Officials (newtownbee.com) — Newtown's Charter Revision Commission is weighing changes that could reshape how town government works, including combining budget reviews, adjusting term limits, and possibly adding a full-time administrator alongside the first selectman. Officials and residents raised concerns about transparency, workload, volunteer shortages, and remote participation, aiming to make budgeting clearer and public service more sustainable for Newtown's boards and commissions.
