Reminder: Silver Bridge in Sandy Hook Will Close Due to CT DOT Work
The concrete deck will be replaced, there will structural steel repairs and the bridge will repainted, forcing road closures for a week.

SANDY HOOK, CT — Residents living in Sandy Hook and Southbury near lake Zoar's SIlver Bridge will need to seek an alternate travel route as the Town of Newtown announced roads will be closed for about a week for bridge repair.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation will temporarily closure of S.R. 816, Glen Road, for the rehabilitation of Bridge Number 00507, Silver Bridge, over the Housatonic River on April 18, 2016, for seven calendar days.

Work to be done on the bridge includes the rehabilitation of the full length of the structure including replacement of the concrete deck, structural steel repairs to the truss and floor beams and a complete repainting of the bridge.
The bridge will be fully closed to vehicles and pedestrians traffic. The anticipated reopening date is April 25, 2016.
