Report: Newtown PD Chief Kehoe Reflects as Retirement Approaches
Kehoe said he doesn't want his 37-year career to be defined just by the Sandy Hook shooting.

Newtown Police Chief Michael Kehoe will end his 37-year career at Newtown Police Department Wednesday.
Kehoe said while the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting is a very important part of his career there are many other important moments too, according to the Connecticut Post.

Kehoe described responding to the shooting as surreal and said the aftermath was unimaginable.
He said the shooting doesn’t define everyone in town and it’s the same community, except it’s now closer-knit.

Middlebury Police Chief James Viadero will become the top cop in Newtown after Kehoe leaves. He is a Newtown resident.
