Sandy Hook Artwalk Slated for Sept. 6
Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (S.H.O.P) Announces the Sandy Hook Village ARTWALK Scheduled For Saturday, September 6, 2014

From Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (S.H.O.P):
The Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (S.H.O.P) is excited to announce ARTWALK, the first village-wide event of its kind in Sandy Hook Village, where talented and inspirational artists from around the state will share their visual works with visitors. This self-guided ARTWALK will launch on September 6th at 10:00 a.m. and will last for 4 weeks. The hope is that it will continue to be ongoing & ever-changing throughout the year. Starting Sept 6th, participants can pick up a free ARTWALK map and information sheet at most of the Sandy Hook Village shops or restaurants.
The event’s theme, a literal translation of an Indian name given to the river that runs through Sandy Hook Village, is A Gathering of Waters. This aptly named event will showcase paintings, indoor sculptures, photography and mixed media in many of the wonderful local shops, restaurants and other businesses that are open to the public in Sandy Hook. Outdoor sculptures will also be featured throughout the village.

The event organizers hope to attract art lovers from around the state of Connecticut to the lovely village of Sandy Hook to stroll through the village with family and friends.
Enhancing ARTWALK in Sandy Hook will be the September 6th Summer Concert featuring the Beatles Tribute Band, Ticket to Ride that will take place that Saturday on Sept 6th from 1-3pm at the stage in the Village Green area behind the Village Perk Café on 3 Glen Road. This concert is being sponsored by WEBE 108 Radio and Toyota. These combined Sandy Hook cultural art events will kick-off the Newtown Cultural Arts Festival, a nine-day, multi-event town-wide festival celebrating and showcasing a wide variety of artistic talent.
