Student from Newtown Raising Money to Teach in Africa: Report

The student hopes to teach and volunteer for children in Ghana.

NEWTOWN, CT — An Immaculate senior is hoping to teach children English and math this summer in Ghana, and is raising funds to help make his hopes a reality, reports the Daily Voice.

A.J. Vitiello of Newtown hopes to participate in a summer service trip that will include volunteering at a Ghanaian school, working to construct new school and spending time at an orphanage that houses childrens who have lost parents to HIV and AIDS

The trip runs through the youth service organization Global Leadership Adventures, and also includes a trip to Keta Slave Fort.
