GFS: High pressure over the Upper Midwest will create a Canadian flow of air across New England through Tuesday with the usual lake and mountain snow showers.

Tuesday, low pressure develops over northern AL and MS produces rain across the Southeast with icing in the mountains. The GFS slips this storm off the North Carolina coast missing New England.
Wednesday and Wednesday night low pressure develops over western TN and heads to the Ohio Valley producing a wide area of snow from PA to MO. with some severe weather and heavy rain for the southern Appalachians from VA through GA. Precipitation moves into New England Wednesday night in the form of snow. Offshore, a secondary low moves south of Cape Cod trying to keep cold air in the system. However, the GFS manages to push some milder air into southern New England changing the snow to rain before ending but maintaining snow for northern New England.

As the whole system moves out, a cold flow from Ontario returns until the weekend when another low forms over AL and heads northeast. Another potentially significant coastal storm for New England.
