Low pressure rotating over the Canadian Maritimes. Large high pressure over eastern Hudson's Bay pushing unseasonably cool air into the Northeast. Large low pressure organizing over NB/KS/IA with a warm front extending eastward to North Carolina where it turns into a cold front. Various quasi stationary fronts winding through the Rockies.

Scattered showers over eastern Maine. A wide swath of rain from Manitoba to Tennessee. Scattered rain and snow showers over the northern Rockies and the Pacific Northwest.

Combination of high pressure over Hudson's Bay and low pressure over the Canadian Maritimes keeps the Northeast under a cool flow of air. Meanwhile, low pressure in the Midwest tracks towards the East Coast bringing additional moisture with it. Late in the week, a secondary coastal low forms off the Delmarva Peninsula and spreads rain through New York and New England with the heaviest precipitation sideswiping southeast New England and eastern Long Island. At the end of the week the GFS veers the storm northward towards the Gulf of Maine delivering rain for coastal NH and Maine where the low stalls, maintaining the cool moist air flow and high moisture content through the weekend for New England. The 5400m thickness line appears over the Adirondacks, Green and White Mountains indicating mixed snow for the highest elevations. Unseasonably cool air stays entrenched over the Northeast into early next week.
