Low pressure meandering over the Canadian Maritimes finally drifts eastward out to sea early in the week, replaced by high pressure that maintains a cool flow of drier air.
Area of moisture over the lower Mississippi Valley drifts northeastward through mid week but passes to the south of New England.
Late in the week another batch of moisture builds and moves into the Northeast next weekend.
