Today's Weather: High pressure stretches from coast to coast. Low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska continues to throw moisture from the Pacific Northwest up the Inland Waterway.

Temperatures across Canada have moderated with the coldest air locked up in central and northern Alaska -18F.

Scattered snow showers over the Upper Great Lakes, rain along the Gulf coast from AL to Corpus Christi with icing inland. Rain/snow from Idaho to Vancouver.

High pressure across most of the country delivers a moderating trend for the Northeast through the weekend. Early next week the southwest flow continues while an upper air disturbance traverses northern New England delivering mountain snow showers.

Late next week, a cold front forms over central Canada and heads eastward delivering colder air into next weekend. An Alberta Clipper provides light snow especially over the Adirondacks, Green and White Mountains. In its wake, the Clipper delivers a reinforcement of cold air for the first week of March.
