Today's Weather: SFC map shows a cold front moving across New England with snow showers and gusty winds, and a strong low pressure system moving across the Great Lakes. (a system more familiar to October and November). Snow from that system reaches from central Michigan to western Ontario.

A stationary front from the Dakotas to southern Alaska separates mild moist air along the Inland Waterway from Polar air over Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Nunavut with the coldest temps over Banks Island, -40F.

The GFS pushes our cold front out to sea with the Midwest storm moving eastward towards the St. Lawrence Valley. The system delivers snow to northern New England tonight and Saturday with a reinforcement of cold air Sunday and Monday for the Northeast.

Tuesday a developing storm system over MI and IA sets up a strong southerly flow of mild moist air into New England with a springtime rain storm for NY and New England. By week's end colder air filters back into the region. (March is the month of broken promises)
