Today's Weather: High pressure dominates the eastern third of the country with two frontal systems; one stretching from MO to BC, and a second from MI to Alberta. Scattered showers across the nation's midsection with snow across the Rockies.

Coldest core of air is located over central Quebec, -31F.

The GFS moves high pressure off the Mid Atlantic Coast over the next 24 hours setting a strong southerly flow of mild air over the eastern third of the country. As low pressure intensifies over the Upper Midwest a swath of moisture is thrown northward into the Northeast and southern Quebec by the middle of the week. The latest GFS is showing the heaviest rain slated for southern New England.

Behind the system at the end of the week, colder air filters back into the Northeast. The GFS then sets up for a new coastal "Nor'easter" storm system to develop over the Eastern Seaboard Saturday and Sunday with a new Arctic blast early next week.
