Low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska is pushing moisture in the form of rain from northern California to Vancouver, with snow over the inland mountains of the Pacific Northwest.

The GFS displays the low pressure system over OK deepening and intensifying as it moves towards MI over the 24-36 hours. A strong southerly flow lifts temperatures over the Northeast with showers moving into northern New England and periods of heavy rain for central and southern New England Wednesday afternoon into the evening. As the storm moves into central Quebec a return flow of colder air filters back into NY and New England at the end of the week, bringing snow to central and northern New England and New York.
Over the weekend a new storm system forms over IN and heads towards the Mid Atlantic Coast. The current run has toned down the development of the new storm compared to yesterday's run. The GFS projects coastal development off the Jersey shore and heads out to sea dragging colder air into the Northeast early next week.
