Current Weather: Low pressure over central Quebec continues to push mild air northward into the Northeast. High pressure dominates the central part of the country with a stationary front stretching from the nation's midsection up through the Rockies and into Alaska. Low pressure off of Baja is sending rain into southern California.
Coldest core of air is over central Alberta, -38F.

The GFS shows a cold front trailing the low over central Quebec moving across northern New England overnight resulting in a short lived cold snap with snow showers. Meanwhile, a digging trough stretching down to the Southern California Coast is setting up a change in the national weather pattern. The GFS sends a string of storms off the Pacific giving the western half of the country cold stormy weather through the rest of the week, with the East experiencing a mild flow well into the weekend.
