Current Weather: Tranquil weather has settled over the eastern half of the country with a deep trough over the Pacific delivering cold stormy weather for the West. A string of low pressures is pushing mild air northward into the Northeast as well as Ontario and Quebec.

The GFS organizes the storm centers in the Midwest into a single low that makes a bee line to Hudson's Bay. The result is a strong flow of mild air for the East and cold stormy weather to start the weekend. By the end of the weekend a strong cold front moves across the Eastern Seaboard delivering rain and thunderstorms from Quebec to Florida. FROPA over New England and New York is projected to occur Sunday night. Meanwhile, stormy weather continues for the Pacific Northwest into early next week. As the cold front over the East Coast moves offshore it weakens and the cold air behind the front dissipates resulting in warm air returning for mid week. However, keeping with the tradition, March is the "Month of Broken Promises", another blast of colder air returns in time for the Spring Equinox.
