The GFS moves the Midwestern Storm into Ontario pushing mild air ahead of it with a new low forming over Indiana and Ohio. As the whole system moves eastward warm air blankets the Northeast. At the end of the weekend, a strong cold front pushes through New England delivering rain and thunderstorms from Quebec down the Eastern Seaboard to the Carolinas.
Behind the front the cold air dissipates and is replaced by warm air over New York and New England by mid week while a new storm system over the Lower Great Lakes pulls cold air down into the country's midsection. The GFS then pushes that cold air eastward delivering another arctic surge by the end of the week along with rain/snow showers.
