Current Weather: Dual low pressure areas, one over Hudson's Bay with a second one over MI pivoting around the main storm in Canada. This has set up a strong mild flow over the eastern half of the country with a strong cold front getting ready to enter the Northeast. The system is causing rain/thunderstorms from New York to Florida. Meanwhile, a series of low pressure areas over the northwestern quarter of the country is producing rain/snow from Montana and Wyoming to the Pacific Coast.

The GFS pushes the cold front across New England overnight producing rain and thunderstorms up and down the Eastern Seaboard with the heaviest amounts from Connecticut to South Carolina. The GFS shows waves developing along the front which slows the progress of the cold front moving eastward. Consequently, rain lingers over New England Monday with a mix of rain and snow for the high elevations of Northwest Vermont. By Tuesday, the GFS moves the front offshore as it dissipates. A widespread low forms over Kansas/Nebraska. The eastern quadrants of the storm are dry which acts as a heat pump for the East Coast delivering a surge of mild air into mid week when another cold front moves across the Great Lakes and heads towards New England. The frontal system delivers rain at the end of the week with a mix of rain and snow for the Green and White Mountains.
Across the Pacific Northwest, a series of disturbances through the week maintains rain and snow from Idaho to Oregon and Washington.
