Slow moving cold front drifts off the East Coast and dissipates. Cold air support behind the front is replaced by a southerly flow generated by a developing low over Kansas. Warm air returns to the Northeast by mid week as the low over Kansas moves into Ontario. As a result, cold air begins to flow southward behind the Canadian low with a new storm forming off the Jersey shore by the end of the week. The combination sets up rain for New England and New York, with a mix of rain and snow across the Catskills, Berkshires ,Green and White Mountains.
