Current Weather: An intense storm system over northeast Kansas is delivering snow from Wisconsin to the Texas Panhandle. An offshore trio of lows over the Gulf of Alaska continues to push moisture into Vancouver through Oregon. A deep storm system over northern Hudson's Bay is pulling cold arctic air southward towards the U.S. border.

The GFS, consistent with previous runs, pushes the Midwestern storm into Quebec over the next 24 hours. Hence, a warm air flow continues for the Northeast to the Canadian Maritimes. Behind the system, cold arctic air is pulled down into the country's midsection bringing snow from the Great Lakes through Missouri. By the end of the week, cold air reaches the Eastern Seaboard with a new low pressure area forming off the Jersey Shore. The low deepens and moves towards Boston Harbor bringing rain/snow to New England with mainly snow from the White Mountains to Western New England Friday. (another March broken promise of Spring) By the weekend, the GFS places the storm over Nova Scotia heading out to sea. A quick turnaround to a southwesterly flow of air stages a rebound in temperatures for the Northeast for the weekend. Early next week, the GFS pushes another cold front over the Great Lakes towards the Northeast.
