As the GFS moves a strong cold front across New York, a coastal system develops off the Jersey Shore. The GFS then tracks this system towards Boston Harbor sweeping rain into New England. The GFS pushes the 5400m thickness from its present location in Michigan to eastern New England by Friday morning. Heavier moisture moves across the Green and White Mountains in conjunction with the 5400m thickness hence increasing the chances of a steadier snow in the North Country and Western New England. The system quickly moves out leaving colder air behind with another weaker frontal system approaching for the second half of the weekend. Early next week a new low pressure system moving across the Great Lakes delivers some possible showers with continued cool weather.
