Today's Weather: Two storm systems dominate the eastern half of the country, one moving into the St. Lawrence Valley and a secondary coastal off the South Jersey Shore. High pressure stretches from the Midwest to the Rockies. A large low pressure system is delivering a large area of rain and snow from the Pacific Northwest to Southern California.
Radar: Snow is falling from northeast VT to the coast of Maine as the storms move out to the Canadian Maritimes. Snow is falling across the Rockies to eastern CA with rain falling from central CA to the CA coast.

GFS: By evening the GFS places one low pressure area over Montreal and the secondary over Down East Maine. Both systems are moving northeastward out of New England early evening with a cold flow rushing in behind the systems.
Saturday some moderation in temperatures as a new low forms over MO. The GFS moves snow into SW New England by Saturday evening. This storm tries to take a similar path as the one today, but this run, the GFS is tracking it south of the last run and reforms over Boston Harbor. The thickness lines indicate snow for New England Saturday afternoon changing to rain Saturday night over central and southern New England. A new low forms over Boston Harbor Sunday keeping all snow for northern New England and rain ending as snow for central and southern New England. Behind it, a cold flow from Ontario sets up with the usual lake and mountain snow showers. High pressure then dominates the eastern half of the country through most of next week.
