Current Weather: High Pressure over the eastern third of the country is delivering fair but chilly weather. Dual low pressure areas, one over MN and the other over KS is producing snow from WI to Manitoba, with rain falling from Iowa to Kentucky. Ongoing disturbances in the Gulf of Alaska continues to send rain and snow across the Pacific Northwest.
Coldest air is over Bank's Island, -33F.

The GFS moves both the eastern high pressure area and the lows over the Midwest eastward with the ridge moving off the New England coast tonight and the frontal system entering the Northeast tomorrow. The frontal system brings rain to southern New England with a mix of rain/snow over Northern New England with more accumulating snow for the higher elevations of the Green and White Mountains. Low pressure reforms over the Gulf of Maine giving Downeast Maine and the Canadian Maritimes another shot of snow. The whole system moves off and by midweek the Northeast is left with cold air with Lake and Mountain snow showers for New York and northern New England. A reinforcement of cold air arrives by week's end and into the weekend. By the end of next weekend a reversal in air flow pushes milder air and moisture for all of the Northeast.
