Current Weather: With FROPA earlier today which occurred off the New England coast, the usual lake and mountain snow showers have set up from Lake Superior to Caribou. Most of the country is calm with widely scattered light rain along a quasi stationary front winding from VA to Seattle.

Fair weather dominates the country through mid week. The GFS shows a large somewhat stationary ridge over the Rockies delivering mild air for the West and a cold flow for the Northeast. By week's end, a Bermuda type High pressure initiates a southwesterly flow of air which results in warm frontal genesis from Delmarva to the Upper Great Lakes. The ensuing warm front pushes precipitation in the form of rain with some mixture for the high elevations of far northern Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine as the 5400m thickness slips into Canada. Over the weekend, the warm front stalls and oscillates over central New England with the 700mb and QPF showing enough moisture for an unsettled weekend. Next week the GFS is showing another build up of cold air over Ontario moving towards the Northeast continuing the cold Spring start.
