The core of the latest arctic outbreak is now passing over the eastern third of the country extending southward to North Carolina. Warm frontogenesis occurs over the next 24 hrs from South Dakota to Delmarva as a Bermuda high sets up a return flow. Low pressure tracks across the northern tier of the country's midsection delivering rain and some snow from Montana to PA. Unstable conditions move into the Northeast for the weekend with some mixed precip. for the high elevations of the Green and White Mountains as the warm frontal system stalls over central and northern New England. Early next week, warm air resumes its trek down the St. Lawrence Valley as low pressure moves from western New York to Quebec with the 5400m thickness reaching past Quebec City. As the low moves through Quebec and heads for the Canadian Maritimes, it pulls down cooler air for mid week. At the end of next week, the GFS develops a coastal storm off of Delmarva.
