The GFS weakens and moves the large Midwestern storm towards northern Quebec. It maintains a strong enough southerly flow through the end of the week to push milder air through New England and into southern Quebec. During the weekend, a new low forms over east Texas and Arkansas which supplies a new batch of moisture for New York and New England. The GFS reverses the situation early next week as a fresh batch of cold Canadian air makes its way towards the Northeast.
