Current Weather: Stationary front from northern New England to Nevada with a series of weak lows along the front as the zonal flow continues. Area of rain from Iowa to southeast Ontario, a second area of scattered showers from western New York to the southern Mississippi River Valley.

As low pressure organizes and moves eastward over Northern New England, warm moist air streams into the Northeast with a cold pocket of cold air trailing the storm. Precipitation could mix with snow in the high elevations of central and northern New England and upstate New York the second half of the weekend as the 5400m thickness pushes as far south as Connecticut and Rhode Island. Early next week a new storm moves northeastward through the Dakotas pushing drier and warmer air into the eastern third of the country through mid week.
