Current Weather: Low pressure over northern New York with a warm front extending eastward to the Maine coast with a cold front extending from western New York to New Mexico. A stationary front meandering around the southern Rockies.
Precipitation: A wide area of showers over the Northeast. Scattered showers from North Dakota to Texas with thunderstorms from central Oklahoma to North Texas. Widespread rain over most of California with snow over the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Remainder of the weekend low pressure treks across northern New England dragging colder air behind it with the 5400m thickness reaching to the Connecticut Shoreline. Meanwhile, a new Midwestern storm brings rain across the northern Great Plains. The Midwestern storm rapidly moves into eastern Quebec by mid week putting the Northeast back under a mild flow. Midweek the low pulls a cold front into central New York and New England as it moves to the Canadian Maritimes. The cold front quickly retreats as high pressure moves off the Southeast Coast pumping a new supply of mild air northward until the end of the week when another surge of cold air invades the Northeast.
