Current Weather: Low pressure moving off the Maine Coast with a cold front extending southward to South Carolina through Alabama where it transforms into a stationary front that extends to the southern Rockies. Unorganized low pressure over Utah with a cold front reaching to Mexico.
Precipitation: Showers over the Northeast with snow showers mixed in over the Catskills, Adirondacks, Green and White Mountains. Showers reach from MN to AK. Rain over central CA with snow over the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Low pressure continues to head from coastal Maine to the Canadian Maritimes taking the moisture with it offshore early in the week. Meanwhile, low pressure organizes over the Rockies and moves into the Upper Great Plains delivering widespread rain. This strengthening low pushes milder air back into the Northeast through midweek. As the low moves from the Upper Great Plains to northeast Quebec, it drags colder air southward to central New York and New England in the form of a cold front. By the end of the week, a new low forms giving a return of milder air for the Northeast. As a series of lows moves through eastern Canada next weekend the GFS drags another core of cold air for early next week over the Northeast.
