Current Weather: Low pressure over the Upper Michigan Peninsula with a warm front extending eastward to WV., a cold front extending southwestward to NM. Large high pressure over the Dakotas, small disturbances up and down the West Coast.

Precipitation: Scattered showers and thunderstorms extend from the Canadian Maritimes to Texas with rain/snow over the Upper Great Lakes. Scattered rain from Saskatchewan to the Oregon coast with mixed snow over the mountains of western Montana and Idaho.

Low pressure over the Great Lakes moves into Newfoundland through mid week dragging cooler air behind it into the Northeast. By the end of the week, high pressure slides off the Eastern Seaboard delivering a return flow of milder air. A series of low pressure systems slides northeastward from the Ohio Valley delivering moisture to the Northeast for the end of the week and the first half the weekend, with colder air returning to New York and New England for the second half of the weekend with the 5400m thickness dipping down to the Connecticut Shoreline. The core of the cold air hangs along the New England coast into early next week.
