High pressure off the Eastern Seaboard, with warm frontal genesis from Virginia to Ohio. A string of low pressure systems trying to organize over the nation's midsection with a frontal system stretching from MN to southern NV.

Area of moisture over PA and NJ tries to push into New England but dissipates. However, high pressure moving into the South Atlantic finally succeeds in building up moisture over the Northeast by the weekend. Meanwhile, strong low pressure develops over the Dakotas bringing needed rain for the end of the week to the Upper Midwest. Over the weekend, a cold front passes through the Northeast bringing showers along with a period of rain. Cool air lingers over northern New England with residual moisture into next week while a new storm forms over Nebraska and Kansas.
