UPDATE: IDs Released in Double-Fatal Crash on Route 80 in North Branford
The crash occurred early Monday morning.

Update: A North Branford man and a Killingworth man have been identified as the victims in the double-fatal crash that occurred Monday morning in North Branford on Route 80.
Police said the victims were Mario Simmons, 51, of North Branford, and John Fragola, 67, of Killingworth, reports the New Haven Register.
Route 80 was reopened at about noon Monday, but the investigation into the crash is continuing.

Original story: North Branford, CT — Two people were killed early Monday in a head-on crash on Route 80 in North Branford, according to police.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, but both had to be extricated from their vehicles, reports WTNH-TV.

The 5:15 a.m. collision shut down part of Route 80 between Caputo and Forest roads, writes Fox61 News.

Details of what caused the crash were not immediately available, and police are continuing their investigation.
