Dump Truck Collides With Car, 2 People Injured: North Branford Police
The dump truck was transporting hot asphalt that spilled onto the roadway as a result of the crash, police said.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Two people were injured after a dump truck collided with a carWednesday morning in North Branford, according to police.
The North Branford Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls regarding a collision shortly after 9 a.m. at the intersection of Foxon Road and Totoket Road, police said in a news release Wednesday afternoon.
First responders found a dump truck overturned and resting partially on a smaller compact car, police said. The truck was transporting hot asphalt that spilled onto the roadway as a result of the crash.

Two occupants in the car were treated at the scene and taken to Yale New Haven Hospital with minor injuries, police said, noting the dump truck driver was uninjured.
Based on the investigation, the dump truck driver was charged with failure to obey a traffic control signal, police said.
