Meet Michael Accarino of RJ Shore Automotive

Take a trip to in Branford or North Branford and you'll leave wanting to clean your whole house. The seemingly spotless interior is being cleaned as I take a look around and their pristine trucks are touted by their drivers: "We would have cleaned them if we knew your were coming."
I laugh, not seeing any dirt and feeling quite happy my own car is hidden. Everyone is busy working, cleaning, driving or completely focused underneath a vehicle, not to be disturbed. I'm quickly directed to the office where Michael Accarino, one of RJ Shore Automotive's employees, answers some questions.
North Branford Patch: What do you enjoy most doing business in North Branford?
Michael Accarino: The customers out there are really good people, plus the store on Route 80 had great visibility.
North Branford Patch: What makes your business unique?
Accarino: Each of the owners has more than 25 years of experience. Our technicians have at least 15 years of experience.
North Branford Patch: What brought you into this business?

Accarin: Both owners [Jim Bruneau and Rob Sherwood] have been into automotive since they were kids. Jim’s part of a long line in the business. Jim Bruneau, when you hear the name Bruneau out here, you think automotive.
North Branford Patch: How does your business give back to the community?
Accarino: We sponsor a little league team.
North Branford Patch: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Accarino: Jim is involved with hockey with his son and Rob is involved with little league with his son.
North Branford Patch: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Accarino: The sense of pride you get from doing things right. Cleanliness is a major priority. If one of our trucks is less than perfect, the drivers get called back.
North Branford Patch: What do you want your customers to know about your business?
Accarino: To mess something up [working on a car] is a personal offense. There’s a lot of tradition and pride in what the owners do. It’s in their blood.
RJ Shore Automotive is AAA certified and responsible for their towing in North Branford as well as Branford.
