North Branford Mail Clerk Pleads Guilty To Mail Theft

She worked at several locations in Connecticut.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — A postal clerk pleaded guilty to stealing several packages and cards from the mail.

Ana Guity, 30, worked as a window clerk in Westbrook, Chester, North Branford and Madison. In late 2016 and early 2017 she stole letters from the mail that she believed had gift cards or cash, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

She had more than 35 letters in her personal vehicle when authorities confronted her. At least five packages containing cell phones were also recovered.

She faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years. She is free on bail until sentencing. She is a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. and is a citizen of Honduras.
