Authorities are investigating the tragic death of a 7-week-old baby Friday in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Authorities are investigating the tragic death of a 7-week-old baby Friday in North Haven. North Haven Police and Paramedics responded to a Fortune Drive home early Friday afternoon on the report of an unresponsive infant. Emergency crews attempted lifesaving efforts while taking the infant to Yale-New Haven Hospital but the 7-week-old was pronounced dead just after 3 p.m., according to police.
Members of the North Haven Investigative Services Division are working with the assistance of the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine what led to the baby’s death, according to police.
“So far, the investigation revealed the child was home alone with the father prior to the 911 call that summoned assistance,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The child’s mother arrived at the home to find the child was not breathing, and paramedics were called. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family who are mourning the loss of this 7-week-old infant.”
