Accident Knocks Out Power In North Haven: Police

Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident involving a railroad construction vehicle and downed power lines.

UPDATE: Power has been restored, according to fire officials.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven Police and Fire Departments are at the scene of an emergency in the area of Sackett Point Road at its intersection with Universal Drive North, according to police.

Police say a railroad construction vehicle has taken down power lines and the occupants are “currently entrapped in their vehicle.” Road closures are in place and police are advising motorists to stay out of the area.

“There is a widespread power outage affecting both the center of Town and the Montowese section,” police said in a post on Facebook. “The power outage has compromised traffic control signals in the area.”
