Alleged Shooting Threat Investigated At School: North Haven PD
Police say there was "no credible threat" after investigating a report of a student making a comment about "shooting up" the school.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — Police say there was “no credible threat” after investigating a report of a North Haven Middle School student allegedly making a comment about “shooting up” the school on Tuesday. Police said a group of students reported to school staff that they overheard another group of students talking about the student making the comment.
The School Resource Officers for North Haven High School and Middle School immediately responded, along with North Haven detectives, according to police.
“The student, who already had left school for the day, was identified,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Contact was made with the student and their parents. The student denied making the threat, which was never directly heard by the reporting parties. After speaking with the student, it was determined there was no threat to the school / student body. A short time later, we learned the student was angered about this allegation against them, and took to social media making comments about a school shooting and being accused of it.
