NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven High School and Middle School have been placed on a lockdown due to a “threat of violence” against the high school, according to police.
North Haven police are investigating the threat.
“It is important to note there has been NO actual violence,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “As we investigate this threat, we have stood up a heavy police presence, and individuals trying to come to either school will be turned away and staged in a nearby location until it is deemed safe for visitors.”
In an update around 1:45 p.m., police said the threat was not credible.
“After determining the threat at the high school campus to be not credible, we have shifted away from lockdown, and at the request of the BOE, are assisting with an early dismissal (high school and middle school only.),” police wrote. “Families of students, please follow BOE instruction for dismissal process.”
