1. Fast-Growing Restaurant Chain Opening Location In North Haven (patch.com) — North Haven residents can look forward to the first Connecticut location of YoYo Chicken, a fast-growing New York-based chain opening soon on Universal Drive North in the Home Depot Plaza. The restaurant will offer fried chicken, smash burgers, wings, tacos, rice bowls, and milkshakes, aiming to be a community spot for fresh, made-to-order comfort food.
2. Former Agway Property Sold In North Haven (patch.com) — A major commercial property on State Street in North Haven has been sold for $1.8 million to locally based National Lumber, which is now exploring new business uses for the site. The nearly 18,000-square-foot former Agway/Smithland building offers high visibility, ample parking, and quick I‑91 access, positioning it to remain an important hub for local contractors and homeowners.
3. Stratford man gets 5 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child (nhregister.com) — North Haven police investigated a Stratford man who has now been sentenced to five years in prison and 10 years of probation for sexually assaulting a young child. Prosecutors credited the victim's courage in disclosing the abuse, which occurred in 2023, and the case led to the offender's required registration on Connecticut's Sex Offender Registry.
4. Georgia man accused of defrauding elderly North Branford resident of $50K, police say (nhregister.com) — A Georgia man is accused of scamming a 70‑year‑old North Branford resident out of $50,000, allegedly directing him to a TD Bank on Washington Avenue in North Haven and posing as a fraud investigator. North Branford police say they tracked the suspect across state lines, highlighting ongoing financial scam risks for area seniors and the persistence of local detectives.
