Car Thief Arrested After Lengthy Investigation: North Haven PD
Evidence from the vehicle, which was stolen in 2016, led to the man's arrest, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Suffield man was arrested for stealing a car in North Haven after a lengthy investigation, according to police. In November 2016, a Stephen Court resident reported his 2011 Subaru was stolen from the driveway. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in the vehicle, according to police.
“Three days after the theft, North Haven officers located the vehicle on State Street,” police wrote in a press release. “Officers attempted to stop the car, but the driver fled resulting in a short pursuit. Officers ended the chase on Whitney Avenue. The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Fairfield. Detectives processed the car collecting evidence that allowed us to identify the suspect.”
Montrell Holmes, 21, of Suffield, was arrested May 1 on a warrant and charged with second-degree larceny. He was held on a $10,000 bond.
