Cousins Caught Breaking Into Vehicles Overnight in North Haven: Police

An alert resident notified police, leading to the arrest of two men: BREAKING

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Two men, who are cousins, were arrested early Wednesday morning after an alert resident called police after seeing the suspects attempting to enter vehicles in nearby driveways.

North Haven Police responded to Peters Lane at about 4 a.m. on Aug. 24 after receiving the tip from the resident.

Responding officers were able to locate Angel Cortez Jr., 23, of North Haven, riding a bicycle away from the scene.

Further investigation revealed that Cortez was in possession of an electronic item stolen from a vehicle, according to police.

Officers were able to track down the second suspect, Wilfredo Cortez, 25, of New Haven.

The cousins were both arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. Both were held on a $10,000 bond pending a Meriden Superior Court appearance.
