Dog Rescued From House Fire In North Haven
Firefighters extinguished the blaze over the weekend. The family was displaced from the home following the fire.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Firefighters rescued a dog while extinguishing a Saturday afternoon fire that left the family displaced. At about 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, North Haven firefighters responded to a structure fire on Rimmon Road.
Arriving crews observed smoke showing from the rear of the home, according to North Haven Fire Chief Paul Januszewski. North Haven Engines 1, 2, and 7, as well as Truck 1 and Rescue 1 responded to the scene. The Hamden Fire Department also responded to the scene for assistance.
Firefighters had the fire under control at approximately 4 p.m. The family pet, a dog, was rescued by firefighters. No other residents were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, according to Januszewski.

The home is currently uninhabitable and the family is working with the Red Cross to find temporary housing.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the North Haven Fire Marshal's Office.
