Drug Transaction Leads To Stabbing: North Haven Police

After initially being told one story, North Haven Police revealed that a Good Samaritan story was fabricated and instead involved drugs.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — An alleged drug transaction led to a man sustaining serious injuries Thursday night when they were stabbed, said police, who are now searching for a 15-year-old suspect. The stabbing took place shortly after 5:30 p.m. when the victim, police said, intended to meet up to purchase drugs – a detail that police were not initially given.

North Haven Police were initially told that a passerby saw a man walking in the road near the Rite Aid on Quinnipiac Avenue and it appeared that the man needed assistance. A driver stopped to help the man. The man who was walking, police said, stabbed a front-seat passenger several times in the chest and then fled on foot.

The offender was first believed to be a thin white male in his 30's wearing red pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. The victim was driven to a Universal Drive clinic and then transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Police later reported Thursday night that their investigation revealed that the man who was stabbed intended to meet up with the suspect for a drug transaction.
