DUI Driver Found With Crack Cocaine, Heroin: North Haven Police

A resident alerted police to a suspicious vehicle in the area.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested on drug charges after police say he was found to be in the possession of cocaine and heroin late Wednesday night.

A resident called police to report a suspicious vehicle in the 1600 block of Hartford Turnpike. Officers responded to the area at about 11:50 p.m. on April 5 and located a man inside of a Honda Accord, according to police.

The operator was identified as Johnny McLean, 38, of New Haven and officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and continued to investigate, police said in a press release.

McLean was found to be in possession of 21 bags of crack cocaine, a single bag of cocaine and four bags of heroin, according to police.

McLean was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was released after posting bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court.
