Eugene ‘Gene’ Anthony Luzietti, 57; Former North Haven Resident
Gene passed away suddenly on Dec. 25 on the beach in Perth, Western Australia, doing what he loved most, playing, laughing and loving life.

Eugene “Gene” Anthony Luzietti, 57, formerly of North Haven, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 25th, 2016 on the beach in Perth, Western Australia, doing what he loved most, playing, laughing and loving life. He was the beloved husband of 26 years to Bettyjane (Rhea) Luzietti.
Gene was born in New Haven on June 13, 1959; beloved son of Esther Giordano Luzietti and the late Rudolph A. “Rudy” Luzietti; he graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Geology in 1983 from Utah State and attended the world renown Colorado School of Mines where he received his MS in Geophysics.

Gene worked briefly for the U.S. Geological Survey before joining Chevron as a Petroleum Geologist in 1991 until the time of his passing, a position that included assignments throughout the United States and abroad.
Beloved brother of Luke (Jennifer) Luzietti, Lynette Luzietti and Alyssa (Dr. Mark) Pethick. Also survived by 14 nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Stephen Church, 400 Ridge Road, Hamden on Thursday morning, January 12th at 11:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private. The visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 11th from 4 to 7 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the MGH-ALS Research Fund, 165 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA 02114
