Patricia Garren, RN, BSN, MHA, Hospice Program Director for Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, will explore the importance of advance care planning for adults of all ages — not just the elderly — and explain how taking just a few minutes to obtain and complete a simple legal document — an Advance Directive — will allow us to convey our wishes about end-of-life care ahead of time to family, friends and health care professionals and help avoid confusion and undue stress in the future.
Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, which serves residents throughout Connecticut, is an affiliate of Wallingford-based Masonicare, Connecticut’s leading not-for-profit provider of senior healthcare and retirement living. Masonicare provides Lunch and Learn programs for seniors and their caregivers as a public service to the community.
The Lunch and Learn program on April 20 begins at noon and includes a complimentary lunch. The program is free, but people are asked to make a reservation by calling the library at 203-239-5803 as soon as possible.
