Man Displayed Loaded Gun At Woman At Bar In North Haven: Police

Police say the man was under the influence and arrested.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A man was arrested after police say he displayed a loaded gun during an argument with a woman while he was under the influence at a bar in North Haven. At about 9:20 p.m. on Feb. 11, North Haven Police responded to Harry’s Sports Grill, 201 Washington Avenue, on the report of a man displaying a gun.

Arriving officers detained the man and found a loaded 9mm Glock pistol in his waistband, according to police. Witnesses told police a dispute occurred in the bar between two patrons and they went outside when it got loud. Once outside, the man displayed a handgun while yelling at a female, according to police.

Matthew Sheltra was arrested and his loaded 9mm Glock pistol was seized, police said. Sheltra was charged with carrying a firearm under the influence, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening.
