Man Tries to Break Into Home, Flees on Moped

North Haven police apprehended a man accused of attempting to break into a home following a short pursuit on Sunday afternoon.

Two witnesses observed a man attempting to force entry into a Quinnipiac Avenue home just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, according to North Haven police.

The witnesses reported the man, later identified as 36-year-old Jose Santini, trying to pry open a rear door.

After several attempts to open the door, Santini fled the area on a moped, according to police.

North Haven officers located Santini attempting to flee south into New Haven and he was taken into custody following a short pursuit.
