Motorcycle Operator Killed In North Haven Crash
The road is closed as police are on the scene investigating the crash.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A motorcycle operator was killed after crashing into a utility pole on Maple Avenue on Monday evening, according to fire officials.
Maple Avenue is closed between Laydon Avenue and Sackett Point Road, according to police. Officers are on the scene investigating the crash, police said around 9 p.m. on Monday. Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
The North Haven Police and Fire departments responded to the area in front of 196 Maple Avenue for a reported crash between a motorcycle and a utility pole.

Upon arrival, firefighters located the rider and sole occupant of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old New Haven man, to be suffering traumatic injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to North Haven Fire Chief Paul Januszewski.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the North Haven Police Department. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin, according to Januszewski.
