North Haven Community Helps Bring Joy to Family in Need (Video)
Community members purchase medical equipment for an amazing 9-year-old boy, Hunter Pageau.
Members of the North Haven community have banded together to help bring joy to an amazing 9-year-old boy in town by purchasing key medical equipment that is not covered by insurance.
Hunter Pageau is one of 10 children living in the U.S. with SMARD (Spinal Muscular Atrophy with Respiratory Distress) his mother Sharon told NBC Connecticut and she said Hunter is “completely dependent on life support for breathing, he’s partially paralyzed and utilizes a wheelchair to travel.”
Hunter was invited to speak at the town’s tree lighting ceremony on the North Haven green on Dec. 7 and he told NBC he delivered a message of hope and felt like he “really did touch their hearts a lot.”

Hunter tells NBC that his Christmas wish for the world is for “everybody to be positive and to never give up. And love each other.”
